Nurtureshock

NurtureShock: New Thinking About ChildrenNurtureShock: New Thinking About Children by Po Bronson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

i know it's basically required reading for a certain parental demographic, but that ubiquity doesn't make it any less fascinating. i enjoyed it and i intend to reread it in a few years so i can reabsorb the teen-related stuff.

Sasheer Meets Her Flasher

I recently watched this again. I think it's hilarious and I love the range of emotions she can express with her facial expressions.

Although Of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself

Although Of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself: A Road Trip with David Foster WallaceAlthough Of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself: A Road Trip with David Foster Wallace by David Lipsky
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

i had a really hard time getting through this book. i restarted it several times and finally (because i'm moving and am trying to cut down on the bulk of my media) finished it. i love david foster wallace's work and it is fascinating to hear his thoughts on things, but it was just a little too writer-focused to be really relate to.
