Last night I went to a Taiko show at the Kabuki theater in San Francisco. The MC for the night used a few adjectives like 'thrilling' to introduce the performances, which of course induced a lot of smirking and eye-rolling among my party. However, it turns out that 'thrilling' was a perfect word for this.
This is from 1994, apparently, but it gives you a good impression of what goes on during the SF Taiko Dojo's signature finale.
